The story of Azadi 24
Speaking Bangla is natural, but writing it on a computer is hard. You have to learn a phonetic keyboard, typing with Avro takes time — yet English speakers have been able to write with their voice for years. Azadi 24 was born to close that gap.
Our goal is simple: any Bangladeshi speaks in Bangla and it is written directly — in Word, in Chrome, or any app. No copy-paste, no separate window, system-wide real-time typing.
Why “Azadi”?
“Azadi” means freedom. The freedom to write in Bangla — to express yourself without the barrier of the machine or the language. “24” means 24 hours — always, anywhere.
Technology
Azadi 24 is a Windows-native C# app built with WPF. Under the hood:
- Google Speech-to-Text — the fastest, most accurate Bangla STT
- OpenRouter + modern LLMs — translate, polish, AI assistant
- Windows UI Automation — system-wide typing into any app
- Win11 Mica/Acrylic — a UI that blends into the OS
Maker
Azadi 24 was built by Ahsanullah Shaon — in Bangladesh. As a developer he felt the pain of writing in Bangla and chose to solve it himself.
