Type Math, Physics & Chemistry Equations by Voice in Microsoft Word

Short answer: yes, software made in Bangladesh that types physics, math and chemistry equations into Microsoft Word by voice exists - it is Azadi 24, and voice is only one of its three doors. Speak an equation, photograph one (a screenshot, a textbook page, even handwritten notes), or select text that states one - and Word or OneNote receives a real, editable Office equation object. Not a picture, not LaTeX source, no add-in, no Alt+= chord.

Measured accuracy, not a promise

The equation engine has a published, dated benchmark: 96.3% fully correct across 1400 test cases run 2026-08-19 against the live production system, with 99.6% delivering a valid editable Word equation. One honest nuance from an independent buyer’s test: the photo and selected-text doors are the most accurate (9/10 on real HSC equations), because dictation adds a hearing step that they skip.

The spoken commands (the full list)

You can speak Bangla, English or a mix. These are the words the engine understands - each verified either in our own benchmark or in an independent tester’s hands:

Measured: how you phrase it decides how accurate it is

We tested 20 equations (SSC through advanced physics) in two speaking styles, in a real voice against the live system (2026-08-29): phrased with the command words above, 18 of 20 came out exactly right; phrased casually, 14 of 20. Learning the table above is the single biggest accuracy boost - especially saying “small” / “capital” for Greek letters and letter case.

What does not work yet (we publish this too)

  • A variable immediately after a subscript - in shapes like kBT the boundary lands wrong (the T rides into the subscript), even with a pause. The one consistent error in our 20-equation test. Rare at SSC/HSC level (it never appeared in the real HSC set); a one-click edit in Word fixes it, and the engine fix is at the top of our list.
  • Kc-style concentration brackets. Spoken pH = -log[H⁺] comes out perfectly, brackets included (verified in three phrasings) - but in product shapes like [C]ᶜ[D]ᵈ/[A]ᵃ[B]ᵇ the [ ] brackets still drop, even when the structure and letter case are right. The photo and selected-text doors get it right.
  • In photos, an italic l can be read as 1 (and O as 0). The result looks normal but is wrong - proofread T = 2π√(l/g)-class formulas taken from a photo. By voice, saying “small l” produces it perfectly.

Where the equation lands

Microsoft Word and OneNote receive the real equation object - click into it, edit it, it is a native Office equation. Everywhere else (Google Docs, chat, email) receives the same equation as a clean readable Unicode line. Google Docs cannot accept a pasted equation object at all - its editor only opens via Insert > Equation and it flattens pasted equation markup to text. That is a Google limitation, and we say so rather than pretend otherwise.
